This Website
This Hebrew teaching and learning website is designed to do primarily
one thing, to enable a novice student to acquire Hebrew reading proficiency in
the most efficient way possible, in the shortest amount of time possible, and
with the minimum amount of pain associated with learning a foreign language.
Now I know that this is a big claim and there are many websites out there that claim to do just that. What sets this website apart is the teaching methodology
used, which has its roots in both civil and military flight training, and the
experience I have gained in using, developing, and tweaking this methodology in
fifteen years of classroom teaching. An important advantage of using my “Hebrew 2 U” system is its systematic simplification of the learning process by
eliminating unnecessary information, which is a background noise to the reading
proficiency learning process. An example of this is how the Hebrew alphabet
and vowels are treated by trimming it down to the essentials, thereby making letter and
vowel recognition attainment so much easier. Furthermore, teaching the letter names and
their sound only, using letter fonts that are stripped down of decorative
elements, and teaching the correct vowel sound without getting into the vowels
names will help with the reduction of background noise. Those extra elements can be tackled after reaching Hebrew reading
fluency, requiring much less effort to learn at this expansion stage of one`s
Hebrew skills.
This website started as a class support blog, which it still is, providing my students with online material and tools enabling them to study Hebrew on the go. Since it gained international interest, I have modified this website so it can be used by the general public. The instructions given to my students at times may differ from that given to the public. This is due mainly to two reasons: first the different setting in the classroom where we work in groups as well as providing one on one instruction by my teacher assistants and myself, and second, the sought out end results are different. I am confident that anyone who desires to gain reading proficiency in Hebrew will greatly benefit from using the material provided here while having fun doing so. My contact information is available for comments and suggestions (e mail only). Thank you for visiting and using this website.

My Classes
This site provides information and learning tools using different learning styles to enhance my students’, as well as anyone else's, ability to acquire excellence in their Hebrew language skills. Here you will find most of the material that we use in the class along with additional Hebrew enrichment tools. Due to time constraints, some of these tools cannot be used in the classroom, which makes the use of this site more important. You can view, download, and print class material. Downloaded files and the Hebrew games can be used on mobile devices for studying on the go. I will be using this blog to provide extracurricular material as well. This material includes modern Conversational Hebrew lessons designed specifically for teenagers, Israeli songs, vocabulary games, and other Judaic Israeli related interests.
The access to some of the material in this blog is by permission only, mainly to current school year students, their parents, and teachers (tabs marked with * ).
You can request to gain access by completing this access request form submitted online. Please submit one form per family, once access is granted it will include all the special restricted material.
Please note that in order to minimize the site administration maintenance access to the restricted material will be granted only for the current school year.
I am confident that this blog will enable my students to study Hebrew with greater efficiency and fun.

Language and Music
Learning a language through the use of music and songs has many benefits:
· Connects across cultures.
· Helps to increase the student's vocabulary base.
· Reduces the foreign sounding accent.
· Can be used on the go (mp3).
· Provides for more diverse learning styles.
· Helps students with special needs.
· It is more enjoyable for the students.

Teacher Assistants
In my Hebrew classes I have between two and three "Madrichim" - instructors. They are essential to the students` success in providing classroom support to the teacher. I thank all the madrichim who have served in my classes, past and present for their excellent work.
